Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to become a member of J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho which was her first EP released on the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she first gained recognition. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox published her first songs online in the year 2012. She dropped five singles in 2013 and Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. She continued to upload her music online in 2014, including her self-released single Bound. In July of 2015, she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. Later that year her music circulated around the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some of the references for Rihanna. The 8th of December was the day she confirmed that she had been contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she recorded with Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II album that they co-produced. She dropped Pho, her debut EP on the 21st of October 21st in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song, and performed on with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she performed as a guest artist on two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas' Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. She dropped her follow-up single called Grampa on the 9th of November. In November 13, she released two more singles: No One as well as Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby in the 16th of November, and she released the song as a single by herself for her first album. On February 20, 2019, a music clip was made available for the song. It's already received nearly three million viewers on YouTube during its initial week. In December 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
